Q. After my computer locked up I can no longer browse the web. What happened?
A. Sometimes windows get confused about what secure port to use for web traffic after an improper shutdown of the system. If this occurs it is easy to correct. Open Internet explorer. From the menu select Tools. From the drop down menu select Internet Options. A pop window will appear with tabs across the top. Select the tab labeled Connections. At the bottom click on the button marked LAN Settings. It will open a final window. In the bottom area labled Proxy settings uncheck the option marked "Use a Proxy Server for your LAN". After clicking on ok to close all the boxes you should be able to browse the Internet normally.
